Common questions

Is RetroFi live yet?

Not yet. RetroFi is currently in early access and is not yet an authorised, live financial product. Joining the waitlist means we'll contact you as soon as we launch — it's not an application and doesn't commit you to anything.

What is equity release, in plain terms?

It's a way to release some of the value tied up in your home, as a lump sum, without having to move or make monthly repayments. The loan plus interest is repaid when the home is eventually sold — usually when you move into long-term care or pass away.

Will I still own my home?

Yes. You remain the legal owner and can continue living there for as long as you wish, subject to the plan's standard terms and conditions.

What happens if my home's value falls?

Every RetroFi plan will include a no negative equity guarantee — a standard safeguard meaning you, or your estate, will never owe more than the home is worth, even if house prices fall.

Can my family be involved?

Yes, if you'd like. Our process lets you include a partner, family member, or carer in the conversation from the very first step.

Is there a minimum EPC rating needed?

Our indicative calculator is built around reaching EPC C or above through your chosen improvements — but every property is different, and this will be confirmed as part of a full assessment.
